The Merchant Shipping Directorate reminds all concerned of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2321 (2016), and Council Decision (CFSP) 2016/849 concerning restrictive measures against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), as amended.

Particularly, attention is drawn to the prohibition of the direct or indirect supply, sale, transfer or export by nationals of EU Member States, or through or from the territories of Member States, or using the flag vessels or aircraft of Members States of:

  1. Arms and related material of all types;
  2. All items, materials, equipment, goods and technology which could contribute to the DPRK’s nuclear-related, ballistic-missile-related or other weapons of mass destruction-related programmes or which could contribute to its military activities;
  3. Certain key components for the ballistic-missile sector.
